The Flower Show

The Alpha Literary and Improvement Club of Lompoc will present its 86th Annual Flower Show Saturday, June 28th, 2008, from noon until 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 29th, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m, in the Anderson Recration Center 125 West Walnut. This show began in 1922 as a Dahlia Show which, over the years, evolved into the Lompoc Valley Flower Festival. A judged event, the Flower Show is considered one of the highest ranked flower shows in California. It follows the yearly festival theme and features an estimated 200 amateur flower arrangements, including a childrens section, commercial flower displays, demonstrations, and over 500 specimen varieties. Admission to the show is $4.50 pre-sale or $5.00 at the door with free admission for children under the age of 12, accompanied by an adult.
